Krystal Tomlinson, the People’s National Party’s candidate for St Andrew West Rural tested negative for coronavirus (COVID-19).
“My results have come back negative,” Tomlinson shared in a video posted to Twitter along with a tweet encouraging Jamaicans to follow established COVID-19 protocols and stay safe.
Noting that she is “feeling fine”, Tomlinson shared that she will now return to the campaign trail.
“I am happy to be healthy and have a clean bill of health,” said Tomlinson.
General elections are Thursday, September 3. Tomlinson will face incumbent member of parliament, the Jamaica Labour Party’s Juliet Cuthbert-Flynn.
Tomlinson went into self-isolation August 25 after announcing that a member of her family had come into contact with a person who had tested positive for COVID-19.
The aspiring MP had halted all campaign activities and pulled out of the General Election Debates on social issues.
